Her father usually accompanies her to the quinceañera's chair to perform the shoe changing ceremony, which symbolizes the transition from girl to woman. Then the waltz begins, where the quinceañera dances with 15 escorts, starting with her father. After this, the quinceañera and her parents say a few words about how important this occasion is, followed by a toast with all the guests.

This can depend on the theme chosen for the celebration. If it's a white party, then all guests, including family, should wear white. If it's a formal theme, then the attire should be very elegant. If, on the other hand, no special dress code is defined for the party, the ideal is for family and even guests to wear celebratory yet comfortable clothing to enjoy the party.

The 15 roses are given during the waltz when each of the 15 escorts takes their turn dancing with the quinceañera and presents her with their respective rose. This way, when the dance with the escorts is finished, the quinceañera ends up with a bouquet of 15 roses. 

Ideally, the quinceañera's father should start the waltz with her, followed in hierarchical order by the closest family members and then the quinceañera's friends. If the father cannot be present for the waltz, his place can be filled by the quinceañera's grandfather, uncle, or brother.

After the quinceañera waltz, the blowing out of the 15 candles by the quinceañera can follow, along with speeches from the girl's parents and a toast with all the guests.
